Vietnam launches new E-visa portal to facilitate foreigner’s entry
ASIA DMC
A new e-visa portal was officially launched on November 11, 2024, featuring multiple improvements to enhance user experience. The new website, thithucdientu.gov.vn, will operate alongside the existing evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn, which currently processes over 15,000 applications daily.
“The new portal has been upgraded and improved, with a FAQ section available in both English and Vietnamese,” said a representative of the Immigration Department.
Since August 15, 2023, Vietnam has extended the validity of e-visas to 90 days for citizens from all countries and territories. However, many tourists have entered non-official websites, causing delays in processing their e-visas.
Therefore, the Immigration Department advises that applicants have access to the official e-visa portals and fill out their full information as required to avoid having their applications rejected.
As of October, Vietnam has welcomed over 14 million foreign tourists and is on track to meet its target of 17-18 million visitors for 2024.
