ASIA DMC’s Green Journey: Sustaining Nature, Enriching Lives

As part of our ongoing commitment to responsible tourism and community empowerment, ASIA DMC, in collaboration with the HG Foundation, embarked on a meaningful environmental journey to Viet Hai Village on May 9–10, 2025.

Under the theme “Sustaining Nature, Enriching Lives”, the initiative focused on supporting local reforestation efforts and encouraging eco-conscious travel practices in one of Northern Vietnam’s most pristine natural settings.

100 trees for a greener tomorrow

In coordination with the local authorities and youth union of Viet Hai, the ASIA DMC team planted 100 native trees in designated areas surrounding the village. This small yet impactful action contributes to combating soil erosion, enhancing biodiversity and supporting reforestation efforts in the buffer zone of Cat Ba National Park.

This activity forms part of ASIA DMC and HG Foundation’s long-term sustainability strategy, which aims to integrate environmental responsibility into every aspect of our operations and destination partnerships.

A journey into nature and community

The journey began in Hanoi, continuing through Ha Long Bay, before reaching the peaceful and isolated Viet Hai Village. Accessible only by boat and trekking trails, this remote community is tucked deep within the lush expanse of Cat Ba National Park, offering a rare glimpse into Vietnam’s untouched landscapes and traditional rural life.

Beyond the tree planting effort, the trip allowed the ASIA DMC team to experience local hospitality and interact with villagers, reflect on the importance of regenerative tourism and connect as a team through shared purpose and outdoor immersion.

Strengthening our commitment to sustainable travel

At ASIA DMC, we believe that meaningful change begins with collective effort and simple, purposeful actions. Whether through reforestation, community partnerships, or sustainable travel design, our mission is to leave a positive impact on the places and people we engage with.
